Catharism in Castile-León was introduced by pilgrims from Occitania who left France to follow the Way of Saint James to Santiago. It is said that these Cathars had their own symbol, a cross with three arms into which three large stakes were driven. The term "Catharos" comes from the Greek and means "pure." This origin is in turn reflected in the purity and authenticity of our wine from the privileged area of the Ribera del Duero, the Gumiel de Mercado - an ancient wine-growing area full of underground cellars hewn out of the rock.
Unfolds its full aroma in combination with hearty meat dishes, mature cheese or classic pasta dishes.
Deep cherry black with crimson spots, clear notes of wild berries and chocolate, the Cathar Crianza catches your palate explosively, full-bodied, elegant finish with a hint of minerality.
