Amaro Liquore Elixir Sancti Vigilii

What is special about this bitters? The quality, but also the tradition. Elixir Sancte Vigilii bitters are produced according to a historic recipe from the Dolzan family. It became a testament during the First World War so as not to lose its tradition. The unique properties of the herbs were studied by the botanist and physician to the Prince-Bishop during the Council of Trent (1545-1563), Pietro Andrea Mattioli. The original combination of herbs has been handed down for centuries and is now preserved in our museum. Given the great historical importance of this extraordinary elixir, we were commissioned by the Dean Monsignor of Trento Cathedral to produce the bitters in honour of the most famous and glorious Prince-Bishop of Trento and patron saint of Trentino and to baptise it with the name Elixir Sancti Vigilii.

Enjoy it neat with ice cubes or as an ingredient in cocktails. It is also an ideal bitters at the end of an enjoyable dinner.

This bitters is made from a mixture of juniper berries, cloves, brown chiretta herb, gentian and rhubarb roots, wormwood flowers, lemon balm leaves, bitter orange peel, bitter wood and much more. Elixir Sancti Vigilii is characterised by a strong fragrance and seductive aromas.
