The Barthenau Vigna S. Urbano is an expression of the estate's most prized cru site. It is located in the heart of the vineyards around the Ansitz Barthenau near Mazon. This Pinot Noir reflects the enormous potential of this unique site, where vines grow, some of which are older than 65 years.
Red meats, game, mild cheeses.
Pinot Noir that already gives an idea of its enormous concentration through its dark ruby red colour. If the nose is still a bit closed at first, it soon releases its aromas in the glass, which are reminiscent of the multi-faceted bouquet of classic Burgundy. The enveloping scent of sour cherries and raspberries is underscored by delicate tones of vanilla and subtle notes of spices. It is very well balanced on the palate and convinces with its elegant acidity, the well-integrated tannins and an impressive aromatic concentration.
