Weingut Klosterhof

The Klosterhof preserves a 400-year-old wine press in all its beauty and is one of the few wine producers in the canton of Lucerne with its own cellar, with historical roots of wine production dating back to the 16th century, when monks from Muri Monastery selected this location on the Lindenberg for viticulture. The vineyards are located at an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level with south to west orientation, with noble red wines thriving in the protected steep southern slopes, while the higher western slopes are ideal for typical "cool-climate" white wines. The humus-rich and calcareous moraine soil gives the grapes complex aromas and shapes the distinctive character of the wines, while the föhn wind brings the necessary warm air each autumn for the grapes to reach full maturity.
