Fontalloro IGT Toscana 2018

"The vineyards from which the grapes for the production of Fontalloro come are located in the Chianti Classico area in the upper part of Fèlsina and in the Chianti Colli Senesi appellation (at altitudes between 330 and 407 metres above sea level). The vineyards are mainly south-west facing and are characterised by different soils: rocky, calcareous and clayey, as in Chianti Classico; rich in sand, silt, small pebbles and marine sediments, as on the border with the Crete Senesi. First year of production 1983.

Noble pasta dishes, white meat and poultry.

Ruby red color with good intensity and richness of tones. Complex aromas with accentuated notes of tobacco and moist earth (but also earth dust) and hints of blackcurrant, blackberry and liquorice. The palate shows a good tannin structure and consistency of the tannins, which are moderately soft. Good consistency, structure and race in the aftertaste. Excellent longevity in great vintages.
