Desiderio IGT Toscana 2018

A Chianina bull weighing no less than 1.673 tonnes with the auspicious name "Desiderio", which lived on the agricultural model estate Le Capezzine (today's Avignonesi wine cellar) in the second half of the 19th century, was not only the godfather for the naming of the powerful red wine, but also provided an extremely successful gene pool for breeding. The robust cattle not only provided meat, but were also used as draught animals in agriculture. The Tuscans say they have strength, longevity and elegance; characteristics that also distinguish the Desiderio, Cortona Merlot DOC.

Grilled meats, brasato, game dishes, polenta, hard cheeses.

Deep cherry color with ruby reflections. Very complex aromas with a lot of concentrated fruit, some liquorice and fine spice in combination with elegant notes of wood. Full-bodied and ripe on the palate, with a rich yet delicate fruity sweetness. Excellent harmony and a lot of enamel characterize this rarity.
