The peasants of Neckenmarkt took a stand against the Hungarian rebels in the Battle of Lackenbach in 1620. In gratitude, they received a flag from Prince Nikolaus Esterházy. Since then, this flag has been waved on the Sunday after Corpus Christi by a boy in the historic Hajduken uniform. This is how the population commemorates the bravery of their ancestors. Cellar master Georg Wieder was allowed to wave the flag himself in 1991 and dedicates this wine to the Neckenmarkt tradition.
Harmonious accompaniment to all kinds of meat dishes, for example grilled sirloin with roasted vegetables and potato gratin, as well as to pasta dishes.
Dark ruby garnet with violet reflections, spicy - fruity nose, typically Blaufränkisch, subtle herbal spice, dark berries, black cherries; juicy fruit on the palate, complex with fine blackberry nuances, ripe, well-integrated tannins, rich in finesse.
