Wenn einst die Weingeschichte Italiens geschrieben wird, wird man im Kapitel über die Valpolicella lesen, dass ein Mann jeden Kompromiss ablehnte und sich unabweichlich das höchste Niveau zum Ziel setzte... So beginnt Daniel Thomases im Guide Veronelli 1999 sein Hohelied auf Romano Dal Forno, einen Winzer und Visionär, wie er wohl nur alle paar Jahrzehnte einmal die Welt des Weines bereichert. Sein erklärtes Ziel ist, Weine mit grösstmöglicher Konzentration und Komplexität zu schaffen, und zwar ohne ein Mehr an Alkohol. Wir sind stolz und dankbar, Ihnen diese grossartigen Weine anbieten zu können. Leider müssen wir darauf hinweisen, dass die Produktion und damit die Zuteilungen extrem (!) limitiert sind. Wer jedoch schon einmal das Privileg hatte, einen Valpolicella oder gar Amarone von Dal Forno zu verkosten, wird wohl, genau wie wir selbst, vor grössten Anstrengungen und Hemmnissen nicht zurückschrecken, um eine der begehrten Flaschen zu ergattern.
