When the papal court was moved back from Avignon to Rome in 1377, the noble Avignonesi family also came to Tuscany - which explains the difficult-to-pronounce name. A branch of the family founded a winery there, which is now one of the oldest and most reliable in Italy. If you want something special, we like to go for Desiderio, the Merlot matured in barriques with the image of the bull named Desiderio. For collectors and connoisseurs, there is also the 50 & 50; 50% Merlot from the Avignonesi winery and 50% Sangiovese from the equally famous Capannelle winery, which provide a great drinking pleasure.
